Cameroon have announced the imminent training of some 4000 Cameroonian youth
with the necessary skills to create and manage their own businesses as part of
their 2016 action plan.
Laye Mbunkur, 2016 JCI Cameroon president told
reporters Thursday January 14 at a news conference in Yaounde that besides
upgrading the knowledge of some youths, his organization equally intends to
equip over 3500 young Cameroonians with knowledge related to Cameroon’s
development agenda dubbed Vision 2035.
Flanked by his close collaborators at Thursday’s
briefing which took place at hotel de depute Yaounde, Laye Mbunkur who is a
business coach told newsmen that 2016 sets the stage for JCI Cameroon to become
more recognized for its ability to create change in communities across the
nation.
He said as part of their 2016 action, five issues
feature prominently. “We are looking at five main aspects in 2016 .The first aspect is that we are working on
mobilizing 3500 youth leaders all over the national territory. We will equip
them with the knowledge of the country’s national development agenda.here, we
are talking about vision 2035” he said stating further that “We conducted a
survey and we realized that youth know very little about this development
agenda. So this year, we intend to create this awareness through the
organization of training sessions, each of which we will have about 200
participants who are youth leaders. We will elaborate this vision. Then we
shall equip them with the necessary leadership skills, so that they can play
their role as far as this vision is concern”
Still as part of the organization’s action plan, Laye
Mbunkur who holds a master degree in Business Administration with specialty in marketing
continued that JCI is working on training 4000 youths on management and
technical skills, on how they could create and run their own businesses. “We
are going to do this through the organization of an enterprise development
market place” he said.
Also the 2016 president whose mandate ends by the end
of this year disclose to the media that JCI has engaged to under take a trip to
Nigeria with 100 young Cameroonians be they young business people, aspiring
business people who are age 18 - 40. He
said “We are working in partnership with JCI Nigeria to create these exchanges
to discuss about business opportunities”

young active citizens between the ages of 18 to 40 in more than 100 countries
who are dedicated to creating positive change in their communities. Each JCI
member shares the belief that in order to create lasting positive change, we

and managerial skill of young leaders.
