The body of a woman said to be a lesbian has been discovered
in the small village of Ngyen -Mbo, situated on the outskirt of Mbengwi, North West
region, Cameroon.
The girl who was discovered May 19, 2016 by a passerby
is reported to have been lynched to death by a mob.
Eye witness accounts say, it was 11:47 P.M. on that
fateful day when the body of a woman, in her thirties, whose name Cameroon Watch got as Susannah Afor, was
found death along the street, near the abandoned uncompleted building adjacent
to Muna Junction, Bamendawards.
She was discovered laying in her own pool of blood,
wearing a white blouse and blue jeans with a gold necklace and leather shoes,
suggesting she lived an ostentatious lifestyle.
She was later identified by some passers-by as a
notorious unabashed lesbian who had gone into hiding almost a year ago, after
she had been caught in a lewd act alongside her co-lesbian friend, one Gilly
from Mile 19 neighbourhood.
Both had narrowly escaped death from a mob. They had
been rescued from the hands of the mob by some police elements from a nearby
police station, it was earlier reported.
Residents of Mbengwi, who have first hand information
about the incident, declare that Sussanah was surely returning to her hiding
place, where she is presumed to have lived following the departure of her
lesbian lover.
On site examination of her corpse showed laceration
from repeated stabbing with sharp and blunt objects, presumably knives and
building rods, some of which could be seen in the bush nearby with blood
stains. Dry sputum had left traces all over her body and while it is unclear
whether she could have spat so much, it can be presumed that some of it
represents the spite of her killers, who do not stomach her open and
provocative practice of heinous woman to woman sex and love.
According to Pa Timoh, a quarter head in the
neighbourhood, “she was a notorious prostitute and unabashed lesbian, and thus
only got what she deserved”.
Another observer, who claimed to be the deceased’s
family member but preferred to be cited on anonymity declared to reporters that
Sussanah’s death is good riddance for she had only brought shame to her family,
after multiple failed marriages in which she bore no children, in addition to “this her thing she called lesbian”. Other
respondents wondered how it was that the police had released her, if not of
shady deals and exchange of sex or money, considering that she had been
arrested for lesbianism several times.
For the
record, note that article 347 Penal Code criminalizes sexual contacts with
members of the same sex with a penalty of 6 months to 5 years' imprisonment and
a fine of up to CFA 200.000.
If one
of the persons involved is between 16 and 21 the penalty is doubled. While
European and American countries have taken desperate moves to promote
homosexual lifestyles in Cameroon by linking aid to tolerance of gays and
lesbians, Cameroon, through its Head of State, Paul Biya, has remained
resolutely pro-family, insisting that our culture has no place for people who
practice sexual cannibalism and sacrilege in the name of gay and lesbian love.
